Geroy Simon - Q&A

November 11, 2008

From Cam and Ethan:

Geroy, My son Ethan (5) and I (45) are big fans. We hang out in Section 38 every game and love the CFL. We just wanted to say 'you rock' and wish you the best against Calgary on Saturday and of course at the Grey Cup where you and the rest of our Lions will bring it home to Vancouver!! Rock on Geroy and 'GO LIONS GO'. Cam & Ethan

Thank you for supporting the Lions this year. Sorry we couldn't get that home playoff game, but this is the way it has to be. We have to do it on the road.

From Brandon:

Hi,Geroy. I would like to say that you are a great player and keep up the good work in the future. I have a very important question though, I need you to help me on. What is some training I can do to make the slotback position for my highschool team? I have about, 6 months to train. So what can I do to be ready to take that position, and beat out the rest? Thank you.!!!

I'm happy to see that you want to take your game to another level. The most important thing in offseason training is to catch as many balls as possible, maybe 100 each time you train. If you don't have anyone to throw too you get a ball lie down and throw it up too yourself, make sure you catch it away from your body.

From Gerrod:

What up bro? Dont really have any questions I'll leave that to the other fans but just wanted to say hey and keep working hard and get us another Cup. Love ya and good luck,

Thanks for keeping up with me big bro. We plan on bringing home that Cup. Love you bro. Give the boys a kiss for me.

From Touchdown Tony:

how can I get as fast as you and elusive? you have very good feet and hands. I am a receiver so can you help me?

if you want be fast you should train fast. Join the track team, work on your change of direction and jump rope. Last but not least, catch as many balls as possible.

From Cole:

How did your celebration stance come to be

I created my touchdown celebration from watching Super Man with my son 6 years ago.

From Jason:

Hey Geroy, I'm an Als fan and I'd love to see you finish off your career over here. Recently my 3-yeard old was playing football in the park and ended a particular sequence by striking the superman pose! I asked him what he just did (to make sure I saw it right,) and he said "like the football player on TV, daddy, the superman move"! Now every time I watch a game, he asks if Geroy Simon and the Lions are playing. Thanks for helping get another generation interested in the game.

I am honored that your son doen the pose whenever he plays football. I feel like I'm doing service to todays youth by helping them get into positive things especially football. Thanks for watching, which ever team it is.
